Sue Nairn
I am a Norfolk girl, born and bred in King’s Lynn and educated at the West Norfolk and King’s Lynn High School for Girls. After taking my A-level exams, I went to train as a nurse at the Royal Free Hospital in London and then worked there as a Staff Nurse on the Intensive Care Unit. I left London when I married my husband, Mike, and returned to Norfolk when he joined the Norfolk Constabulary, first living in Thetford and then moving to Weeting in 1978 when he became the local beat officer. Both of our children attended the Village School and our daughter eventually became a teacher there as well. I worked as a District Nurse in Brandon for 5 years and then became a senior specialist nurse across the whole of Suffolk before retiring in 2010. Since then I have become more involved in Village matters, particularly supporting the activities of the Parish Council, such as tidying the churchyard, spring bulb planting and litter-picking. I have been the editor of the Weeting Village Life magazine for the past 7 years and I believe that Weeting has so much to offer its residents. I welcome the opportunity to have the ability to influence further improvement in Village life as a whole.
